Finalists of the 4^th Annual Green Wedding Giveaway to Be in the Hands of Maine’s Smartphone Users

Clay Hill Farm partners with Cardagin Networks to host giveaway voting on mobile app

York, Maine – The Green Wedding Giveaway is every couple’s dream – an environmentally-sound occasion in a breathtaking setting for 75 guests would make any bride and groom giddy, but add the not-so-small detail that the whole affair is free and you’ve got a grand slam; and for the first time, voting for the winner will not just take place online but also on Cardagin Network’s mobile app.

Award-winning restaurant and bird-sanctuary, Clay Hill Farm has partnered with Cardagin Networks, a mobile loyalty and advertising leader, to promote the annual giveaway via locals’ smartphones.  After the initial nomination process, which is occurring now through January 2012, anyone can partake in the process of crowning the 2012 winners during public voting in February.

Mobile voters simply download the Cardagin app and click on the “Green Wedding Giveaway from Clay Hill Farm” mobile storefront to vote for the finalists.  As the votes are tallied, finalists accumulate points through Cardagin’s one-of-a-kind loyalty program.  Until public voting officially begins in February, the Giveaway will have a mobile storefront on the app with information about the nomination process.

“Grand Velas was amazing!  My only wish is that we could have stayed longer!  It was so relaxing after our few days touring around the Yucatan.  The resort is immaculate, the food was incredible, and service was unbeatable.  We felt like royalty  :-)  It was especially nice that we were staying in the adult-only portion of the resort, so that the pool and beach were a serene escape for us; we want kids some day, but not right now, and appreciated having a quiet vacation.  Since it’s the off season, not all the restaurants were open every night, but we had a nice variety and really enjoyed Lucca (Italian) and Frida (Mexican).  At Lucca, Douglas had the most amazing lasagna and at Frida I had an appetizer of mussels that was out of this world.  The infinity pool was so comfortable that we were in it for hours, hopping between the open water in the sun, submerged benches, or relaxing at the swim up bar in the shade. The beach was nice (soft sand, and they sculpt the shape regularly), though the bottom was pretty rocky in places so we didn’t go in the water much.  Overall, it was just incredible, and we hope to save our money for future luxurious vacations such as this.  I never would have considered spending so much on a hotel room in the past, but after this experience, I can understand why people splurge on it.  It’s not necessary, of course (most luxuries aren’t!), but boy what a difference it makes… we were really able to relax after an incredibly stressful and exciting year.  Thank you so much for donating this wonderful prize! “

Hurricane Threat Didn’t Dampen the Third Green Wedding Giveaway of 2011

With the threat of Irene bearing down, slated to slam the Maine coast on August 28^th, the third of the three Green Wedding Giveaway 2011 winners to marry at Clay Hill Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine, exchanged vows inside the restaurant. As the wind kicked up and the rain intensified, Samantha Smith of Buxton, Maine and Jeffrey Court of Arundel, took the weather in stride and refused to let Mother Nature’s mood dampen their commitment. Braving the elements for some outdoor ‘umbrella’ shots on Clay Hill Farm’s eleven private acres, the couple proudly entered the Reception to the Scorpions’ classic, ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’. Smith and Court were the third finalist winners in Clay Hill Farm’s annual Green Wedding Giveaway contest, a challenge that encourages engaged couples to ‘pick their shade and shout it to the world’, celebrating the real people making a difference in the world with their commitment to the Earth and each other. Green Wedding Giveaway Winners Bring Worlds Together
Under sunny skies on a picture perfect Maine summer day, surrounded by friends and family representing three continents, Amy Watson of Wiscasset, Maine and Douglas Figueredo of Rio de Jeinero, Brazil, exchanged vows at Clay Hill Farm on Sunday, July 10th. The Grand Prize winners of Clay Hill Farm’s third annual Green Wedding Giveaway, Amy and Douglas attracted votes from 63 countries in their five-week contest campaign this past spring, to spread the contest message of green connectedness and encourage environmental awareness. Two cultures came together for the wedding at Clay Hill Farm, to celebrate a great love and the beauty of nature. While Amy read her vows from a Blackberry having forgotten her notes, Douglas’s long time friend translated in Portuguese. As Cassi Madison walked down the aisle at Clay Hill Farm to meet her groom Luke Fuller, classical guitarist Pat Keane played ‘Here Comes the Sun’. On cue, the sun shone on the first of the three winning couples in Clay Hill Farm’s Green Wedding Giveaway, an annual contest to encourage green connectedness by celebrating real people making a difference in the world. Luke & Cassi, of Portland, ME, won a green wedding package in Clay Hill Farm’s annual wedding contest that encourages engaged couples to explore the parallel between a commitment to each other and a commitment to the Earth.  Luke and Cassi’s green love story was chosen for the finals from over 100 entries.  The couple then embarked on a five-week campaign for public votes while creating a giveback program to benefit their community.  Passionate about the locavore movement and Maine-made food, Luke & Cassi celebrated their wedding at Clay Hill Farm Restaurant with over 100 friends and family that enjoyed a menu incorporating local farm products and produce.

To highlight this year’s Green Wedding Giveaway theme,  ‘When you celebrate the Earth everybody wins”, all three finalists in the 2011 contest won a green wedding package at Clay Hill Farm.
